Services
Explore our comprehensive range of dental services designed to enhance your oral health and leave you with a sparkling smile.
General Dentistry
General Dentistry services include regular checkups and examinations, scale and cleans, and fluoride treatment.
Our general dental check-up services always begin with a thorough assessment of your oral health followed by a meticulous cleaning and fluoride treatment.
Routine digital X-rays are conducted for all new patients, as well as regular attendees every two years to accurately assess oral health and detect any underlying issues or concerns for prompt treatment. Greenacre Dental can offer two types of digital X-rays on-site: bitewings and OPGs.
Assessment of gum health and oral hygiene is also performed. Advice, oral hygiene instruction and education are offered to help improve the health of teeth and gums.
Children or people experiencing gum disease may require more specific dental hygiene instruction.
Routine dental checkups are preventative services and help reduce the risk of long-term dental complications.
General dental appointments are recommended every 6 months. Some patients may require more frequent appointments.
Crowns
Extensive tooth damage may need more than a filling. A crown (or cap) enhances appearance and provides added protection for seriously damaged teeth.
Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment becomes necessary when the dental pulp (the inner nerve and soft tissue) becomes necrotic, leading to persistent toothaches and infection. Nerve canals are removed, cleaned out and disinfected in this procedure over a series of appointments.
Bridges
An alternative option that can be used to replace a missing tooth is a bridge. When creating a bridge, we use the support of other teeth to hold onto the bridge.
The bridge is fused to the teeth next to the gap. This means that the bridge replaces the missing tooth and prevents any further movements of the adjacent teeth.
Mouth Guards
We can manufacture custom-made mouthguards for sporting activities, night guards for occlusal problems or TMJ dysfunction, and retainers for ongoing orthodontic maintenance.
Occlusal/TMJ Problems
Occlusal problems involve the alignment of upper and lower teeth during jaw closure, including issues like misalignment, malocclusion (overbite or underbite), or temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Treatment options may include a custom-made night guard splint or oral device to be worn. Our team can assess and treat malocclusion in-house including administration of botox into the masseter for TMJ pain relief, or refer to a network of occlusal specialists if needed.
Gum Disease
Mild forms of gum disease, called gingivitis, can be managed with meticulous professional cleaning over a series of appointments. Education and oral hygiene instruction may also be provided.
Advanced gum disease (periodontitis) can result in gum recession and subsequent tooth loss. In addition to thorough professional cleaning, gum measuring may be necessary to determine the health of the gum tissues.
Where gum damage is extensive, referral to an endodontist for further assessment and treatment may be required. One of our dentists can organise a referral to a trusted endodontist colleague.
Wisdom Teeth Extraction
Wisdom teeth can sometimes cause issues like pain, tooth crowding and infections, and removal may be necessary. Most erupted wisdom teeth can be extracted under local anesthetic. However, impacted teeth must be referred to an oral surgeon under general anaesthetic. Our team can organise a referral to an oral surgeon colleague if needed.
Socket Preservation
Socket preservation is a technique used to maintain bone density following tooth extraction, preventing additional bone loss. This procedure involves placing bone graft materials into the socket of the extracted tooth to support the surrounding bone structure.
Bone Augmentation
Before proceeding with dental implant surgery, your dentist will need to assess your mouth’s ability to support the implants. While most people are suitable candidates, some may lack sufficient healthy bone, necessitating a dental bone graft procedure to ensure successful implant placement. Addressing this concern beforehand is essential to prepare the foundation for the dental implant procedure.
Dental Implants
One of the options to replace a missing tooth is a dental implant. Dental implants are surgically placed in your jawbone, where they function as the roots of missing teeth.
Dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth, or several teeth, or to support partial or full dentures.
Smile Makeovers
Cosmetic dentistry includes major dental work performed to produce a “Smile Makeover”. This may involve correcting chipped, stained or misplaced teeth. Often, this includes: porcelain crowns, veneers or caps, tooth whitening or pigmentation enhancement, bonding, dental bridgework and dentine reshaping. In this case, elective cosmetic dental surgery is chosen by the patient to enhance the appearance of the smile.
Invisalign Aligner Therapy
Invisalign, also known as removable braces, is a series of clear, custom-made aligners that gradually move your teeth to the desired, straighter positioning. They are virtually invisible, comfortable to wear and easy to remove. Aligners are individually made to tailor progressive orthodontic treatment, to straighten your smile. To find your eligibility for Invisalign treatment, book a consultation with one of our practitioners.
Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening has become very popular in recent years. At Greenacre Dental, we can offer a take-home bleaching experience with custom-made bleaching retainers or an in-chair POLA bleaching experience. Colgate bleaching kits, instruction and demonstration are provided for patients opting for an at-home approach. Bleaching results may vary depending on certain lifestyle factors or pre-existing dental work, so we recommend booking an eligibility consult with one of our practitioners.
